God’s work. Thank you. Canadian here. My 16 year old son has been from initiation , winter 2024 , still waiting today on the healthcare conveyor belt for his knee. We expedited our consult by getting a private MRI . It put us ahead by 6 months. Yet here we are. Left a message yesterday at BCCH inquiring about my son’s status. Our first consult was august 2025. I imagine 1.5 years of adolescent growth will require a new MRI. God help us. Dr Brian Day is a great canadian follow for canadian “ healthcare”. https://x.com/drbrianday?s=21

Biggest issue as someone who knows the territory you’re highlighting has been the transition of hospitals from county-run hospitals that understand the local environment to a blip on the map of a HCA or national chain conglomerate where the

suits in Nashville have absolutely no clue and no desire to work through those local challenges. And you can still attract physicians to some of these locations if you set them up well (autonomy, pay, etc), which is not happening.
